Toyota India’s managing director has confirmed company’s plans, however no details of the models to be launched are available yet. But we can be certain that the SUV RX and the Mercedes E class competitor GS will certainly be a part of the range. The cars will be brought to India as CBU and if the company registers good volumes it might consider assembly in India.
It is a known luxury brand in India, and is probably the only Japanese brand that can compete with Germans in the luxury car segment. The only drawback Lexus has is that it has very limited diesel models, which will certainly be preferred here.
